Moon in Winter Circle on April 12 | EarthSky.org

This is an excellent way to identify these major stars and the constellations they’re associated with.

You can notice a circular pattern of bright stars around tonight’s moon. In the Northern Hemisphere, we call these stars the Winter Circle.

  1. I am about ready to look for property far away from town and move, so I have less light pollution! The best thing about living aboard a boat was that we were often in remote places and the stars were amazing!
